Planned Parenthood and an answered prayer

Today Jeanne, Helen and I went to Planned Parenthood to cover a few hours for the Houston 40 Days for Life campaign.  None of us were super excited about going up there, as the facility is a monstrous building of death and there is always chance for interaction with their extremely uncharitable volunteers.

For those who haven't seen Planned Parenthood's pride and joy, here it is:

There were two Planned Parenthood volunteers manning the gates - normally their job is to distract those going in and convince them not to take any literature from the pro-lifers.  The volunteers today were younger girls - in their 20s - and they were not overly aggressive.  Jeanne and I decided to focus our prayers on these girls and we said a rosary specifically for their conversion.

About an hour later, one of the girls came out of the building and was standing at the edge of Planned Parenthood's property.  Jeanne called to her and asked if she could talk with her.  The girl came over to Jeanne and they began to talk.  I was standing about 20 feet away, and Helen was farther down the sidewalk.

I started praying for Jeanne to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to know the exact words to say to this girl.  Meanwhile Helen was praying the scriptural rosary - unaware of Jeanne's conversation.

Here's how the conversation went:

Jeanne asked the girl why she was volunteering here.  The girl, whose name was Elizabeth, replied that it was a way to fill the time.  Jeanne asked her if she knew that PP was an abortion facility.  Elizabeth looked sad and said that no, she didn't know that. (For those who wonder how someone could not KNOW that Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the country, just listen to Abby Johnson's story of how she first got involved as a volunteer.  She was told that they offer free health care for poor women, and that their goal is to reduce unplanned pregnancy.  They don't recruit volunteers by saying, "HEY! We're the number one abortion provider in the country!!")

Then Jeanne gave her a brochure that talks about PP's racist roots and how they target minority populations.  Elizabeth seemed shocked and even more sad.  Jeanne said that she also looked embarrassed about volunteering.

As they continued to talk, Jeanne found out that Elizabeth was Catholic and they discussed Jeanne's pro-life rosary and then started talking about the story of Elizabeth in the Bible.  Shortly thereafter, Helen walked up and Jeanne introduced her to Elizabeth.  Helen had just read the scripture about Elizabeth while saying the scriptural rosary and she shared that with Jeanne and Elizabeth.  Elizabeth laughed when Helen shared the same story that Jeanne had just shared :)

After a few more minutes of talking, Jeanne and Helen prayed with Elizabeth and Helen gave her her rosary to keep.  We waited with Elizabeth until her grandmother arrived to pick her up.  She smiled and waved as they drove off.

Here we are with our new precious friend Elizabeth, who now knows the truth about Planned Parenthood and does not want to volunteer there any more!!
Praise be to God for a clear answer to prayer today!

Please keep Elizabeth in your prayers, that she will stay strong in her convictions and that she will educate her family and friends about the deception of Planned Parenthood!

As a side note, there is this fantastic billboard that you can see from Planned Parenthood and from I-45.  It says "Take my hand, not my life" with a precious photo of a baby's hand.  This billboard costs thousands of dollars a month to keep, and it is funded only by donations.  Please consider donating to this cause - we need every bit of help possible to counteract the evil that Planned Parenthood does every day and the lies that it tells to women in crisis.  Keep in mind - our city is BLESSED that we have no abortion clinic, but the largest abortion facility in the COUNTRY is less than an hour away from Lake Jackson.
