Stories from the vigil site

"While my husband and I were at the vigil site today, a lady came up to ask why we were there and the reason for our signs. We explained the 40 Days for life campaign and she shared her story. Years ago her doctor told her that her baby would be born with severe medical problems. Her husband left her and she agonized over her decision on what to do. She had an abortion and carried the awful burden of pain, regret, despair for years. She prayed to God to send someone to her and two Jehovah's Witnesses visited, spoke to her and one of them noted she seemed to have some kind of heavy burden. The JW told the woman to give it to God and know forgiveness. At that moment she felt that awful burden lifted. She wanted us to know that those who have had abortions don't want to be judged. She wanted us to send the message of love and understanding. She especially loved the sign that reads "Adoption: The Love Option". My husband found out she needed help to get to a job interview tomorrow and went one step further, told the St. Vincent de Paul group at church, and got her the help she needed. I am proud of him because he took that extra step to let her know again God's love in action. We invited her to come by again to say hello. You never know who will come to the vigil site. Just keep praying and believing God DOES work wonders."
